Overview

What are Campaign Roles?

While anyone in your Muse teams will be able to see a campaign, only members assigned a campaign role will be able to act on this campaign. Based on these roles, members can contribute and drive the campaign to completion.

Members can be assigned to campaign-level roles as well as ad-level and flight-level roles. Advertisement and flight level assignments will be inherited by all ads or flights created on the campaign, though these assignments can be modified on a given advertisement or flight.

Notably, multiple members may be assigned to the same role.

Why is Assigning Member Roles Important?

Assigning member roles is important so that all campaign stakeholders are aware of all campaign deliverables and the resources working on them. Significantly, whenever an activity occurs on the campaign, a notification email is sent to all campaign members. If team members does not fit into a pre-defined campaign role but should receive notification emails, add them to the campaign as a watcher.

Who can Assign Campaign Roles?

Only a campaign owners can add or delete members from roles. By default, a campaign creator is assigned as that campaign's owner. This owner can then assign other team members to the owner role.

What are the Available Campaign Roles?

Below are a list of roles available on campaigns, advertisements, and flights and the permissions each role has within a campaign.

Who will receive notification emails?
Only users who can see a given campaign object - the campaign, its advertisements, or flights - and are assigned to a member role on that campaign object are eligible to receive notifications emails. Notably, members may opt-out of receiving notification emails.

What actions will generate a notification email?
Notification emails are generated whenever the following activities occur regardless of the campaign object (campaign, advertisement, flight) on which they occur:

  • an asset is uploaded or removed from the Asset Drawer
  • a comment is created, edited, or deleted
  • a user is a assigned to/removed from a member role (only member affected will be notified)
  • when a process step's due date is nearing or over-due

In addition, these activities specific to noted campaign objects will also generate a notification email:

  • when a campaign is created or edited
  • when an advertisement or flight is created, edited, or deleted
  • when an advertisement is assigned to a flight (members who can see both advertisement and flight will be notified)
  • when a flight begins or ends
